The first painting in a series of work titled “Outlaws of the Void”.
This series follows outlaws of the Wild West in step with classic western tropes throughout a featureless landscape void of color. For this piece, the leader of the gang was he who shot the sheriff and his gang follows behind as they saunter out of town on their horses. The lack of color and background forces one to focus on the characters and action alone to tell the story. The blank canvas behind lets the viewer imagine their own backdrop and setting to further bring the narrative to life.
